A comple tale of prince Śvetacandra and his wife the chaste, Satāram, who are cheated of their kingdom by Satāram's devious father and brother and banished. The couple then endure hardships in a forest including the kidnap of Satāram by a thief. Escaping the thief, Satāram after another series of adventure, becomes a queen of another place. To find her husband, prince Śvetacandra, she has her picture drawn in a painting and places copies of them all over her country.
